Bob's Office in Gulfport,
Mississippi
After Hurricane Katrina, I was deployed to the Miss
Gulf Coast with the American Red Cross. I worked with Disaster Services,
providing psychological services throughout the Miss Gulf. This van was
filled
with clean-up materials,
great junk food, Huggies, Gatorade, and water. Daily, I
drove it into the disaster areas along the coast, bringing some solace
to folks whose lives were devastated. Many of these folks stayed in
their homes and rode the tremendous storm out. They became everyday heroes, and
their lives were changed forever. For a story about emergency ham radio
operations after Katrina click: here.
